Psychodynamic
I also use a psychodynamic approach, which involves gaining an insight of the emotional and mental process rather than focusing on behaviour. The aim is to help the client find patterns in their thoughts, emotions and beliefs in order to gain insight into the present-day self.
These patterns are often found to begin in childhood, since psychodynamic theory holds that early life experiences are extremely influential in the psychological development and functioning of an adult.
My aim is to help you join the dots between your past experiences and your current difficulties, and to find and enlist your internal resources to address them.
